Our Plan & Sign Up
On Saturday Feb 3rd, we will plan to be down on 7th at Bad Weather Brewing around 3:30pm to gather for general revelry and ordering up food to eat there. Bad Weather is located at the starting intersection for the parade. The parade route runs from there and ends in Rice Park, this is where the Winter Carnival folklore of the overthrow of winter to warmer weather occurs.
- If you are interested in participating, please add your name to this doc: Toboggan Club Torchlight Participants
- With where the parade starts and ends, consider parking in the middle of the route, or just be ready to walk back to where you parked.
- There is a rodeo at the X that night so parking around there or Rice Park may be very limited.
Our Staging
Once we receive our line number from the Winter Carnival, we will have a better Idea of how to plan our approach to the start.
***We are number 48 out of 56. This means we will stage further down Cliff St.
What walking in the parade means this year:
- Our banner being carried by two individuals at the front
- Pickup truck follows the banner and carries resources
- Tailgate to truck will be down in order to access and refill candy
- Walkers will follow behind truck and to the sides, handing out treats to the parade goers
- The parade route is approximately 1.5 miles in length, starts moving at 5:00
How You Can Help
Bring the fun for the crowd and ourselves
- Bring big bags of candy to hand out to parade goers
- Order up gold or yellow glow-sticks to wear as this is a nighttime parade
- Consider wearing our custom apparel
